A softer place to land in the middle of your life
If you’ve found your way here, something is shifting.
Maybe your body feels unfamiliar. Maybe your moods are all over the place. Maybe you’re exhausted from holding everything and everyone together and quietly wondering, “But who is holding me?” You’re not being dramatic. You’re not “losing it.” You are moving through midlife and, most likely, perimenopause or menopause. And it is a lot.
The Sattva Collective exists so you don’t have to walk this part alone. We are the UK’s first community-led CIC created specifically to support South Asian women through the physical, emotional, and cultural realities of midlife and menopause. This is a calm, non-judgemental space where you don’t have to explain your background, minimise your experience, or pretend you’re fine.
You are allowed to take up space here.
Who this is for
This space is for you if:
- You identify as a South Asian woman, wherever you are in the world
- You’re in your 40s, 50s or beyond, or you suspect perimenopause has arrived earlier than expected
- You’re juggling family, work, ageing parents, community expectations, and feeling stretched beyond what feels sustainable
- You feel unseen, dismissed, or confused by what’s happening in your body and mind
- You’re craving calm, clarity, and community that truly understands both your culture and your season of life
If you’re reading this and quietly nodding, you’re in the right place.
Why we exist
Here’s the truth most people aren’t saying out loud: South Asian women are often taught to be the strong ones. We keep going. We cope. We sacrifice. We don’t make a fuss.
But when midlife arrives, the hot flushes, the joint pain, the anxiety, the brain fog, the disrupted sleep, and the quiet questioning of who you are now can make keeping quiet its own kind of suffering.
The Sattva Collective was born from that silence.
In our first year, we’ve published over 50 articles and cultural reflections on the realities of midlife and menopause for South Asian women. We’ve featured interviews with trailblazing women. We’ve gathered communities across the UK. And we’ve been covered by Eastern Eye, Asian Image, DESIblitz, Asian Voice, London Daily Digital, and more, because this conversation is long overdue and is finally happening.
We are here to:
- bring honest, culturally aware conversations about midlife and menopause into the light
- offer grounded information that actually reflects our lived reality
- create spaces where South Asian women feel genuinely seen, heard, and held
- remind you that midlife is not a decline. It is an invitation to come home to yourself.
Sattva (सत्त्व) speaks to clarity, harmony, and inner light. Even in the complexity of hormones, grief, caregiving, and change, there is a centre you can return to. That centre is you. This collective exists to help you find your way back to it.
How we can support you
You don’t have to overhaul your whole life to begin here. Small, honest steps count.
Through The Sattva Collective, you’ll find:
- Community gatherings: in-person spaces where you can show up exactly as you are, listen, share if you want to, and feel less alone. Our Sattva Women’s Circle meets monthly and is open to all South Asian women in midlife.
- Resources and real stories: over 50 articles, guides and cultural reflections to help you understand what’s happening in your body, your mood, and your relationships. Without the jargon. With cultural context woven in.
- Our annual summit: Thrive Through Midlife & Menopause is coming in March 2027. A full day of expert talks, lived experience, and community, designed entirely for South Asian women.
- The directory: a growing list of culturally aware practitioners and organisations who understand the context you’re carrying.
- The Substack: our monthly newsletter, where we share reflections, resources, and voices from the community. Subscribe here, and it arrives directly in your inbox.
Everything we do is guided by three intentions: Calm. Clarity. Connection.
Where to go next
When you’re overwhelmed, even choosing where to click can feel like too much. So here’s a simple map:
- About Us: If you want to know who built this, why, and the story of the mother and daughter behind it
- What We Do: If you want to understand what kinds of support, resources and events are available
- Community: If you’re ready to step into a space with other women
- FAQs: If you have questions like “Do I have to share anything?” “Is this only for South Asian women?” “Where do I even begin?”
You don’t have to read everything today. Start wherever feels right and leave the rest for another time.
Your next step
If you’re not yet sure what you need, that’s completely okay.
For now, your next step might be as simple as taking a breath. Acknowledging that what you’re going through is real. And letting yourself receive a little support.
You are not behind. You are not broken. You are a South Asian woman in midlife, in a changing body, in a complex world, and you deserve care too.
Welcome to The Sattva Collective. We’re so glad you found us.
LANGUAGE SUPPORT: We know that English isn’t everyone’s first language, and that important information can get lost when words don’t quite land. We’ve added a translation option covering key South Asian languages so you can read this site in the language that feels most natural to you. The translations are automatic and won’t be perfect, but we hope they make it easier for you or the women you love to find the support you deserve.
JOIN THE COMMUNITY
Each month, we share honest reflections, culturally grounded resources, event updates, and real voices from South Asian women navigating midlife. Delivered to your inbox with calm, clarity, and care.
